During early pre-production, director Hiro Tanaka wanted the heroines to feel grounded in genuine agrarian daily life rather than purely whimsical fantasy. Mika Saito redesigned Clover with deep front pockets and durable copper buckles so she could carry seedling packs, shears, and fresh field tomatoes throughout morning chores.
